This is not a question for breastfeeding mothers!
No, for those of us whose bosoms have fulfilled their child-suckling duties, what do you pop in there?
For me, it’s definitely this handy little gadget.
My pedometer.
I’m never sure whether it’s my friend or foe.
Anyway, I got the great advice to keep it in my bra from the most excellent mum and weight loss scientist Assoc Proff Amanda Sainsbury Salis. She’s the author of the excellent Don’t Go Hungry books.
You can read all about her work at the Garvan Institute here.
Whenever I pop my pedometer in my bra, I get terrible shocks at how few steps I take, especially on an at home day.
It motivates me to step up the steps.
Do you wear a pedometer?

If 4-5000 so few what are you aiming for?
Hello Mairi, I’m sure I remember rightly in saying that 10,000 – 12,000 is the ideal to aim for just to maintain health and wellbeing. Humans were designed to walk for very long distances and to stand a lot… I can have some very sedentary days. Today is not one of them!
oh dear ipad autocorrect #fail
I need new one – my last few off and got run over at the farm gate – I wore mine every day and was obsessed about it
Must say that I don’t wear it every day. I did for a while until I realised there’s no point when I am having a no-walking day, the step count will be horribly low. So it’s better for me when I am using it to make sure I do get the steps in, it encourages me to do more. And I used it doing C25K, which I think I will get into again soon.
What a great idea Seana! I have one kicking around from my old Weight Watchers days but never really wore it because I never had a suitable waistband to clip it onto.
My bras have become a lot roomier since losing a bit of weight so there’s no problem with sqeezing in a pedometer down there!
LOL, I am the same with the bra thing. Really need to get fitted for new ones, but in the meantime there is plenty of space in there! I’m having an at-home day today with no exercise planned and I bet I only do abouy 4-5000 steps. So few!
But will be careering around a lot with the kids at the weekend, so that’ll make up for a sedentary day.
