You know when you are starving hungry and find yourself in a petrol station, looking around at a sea of carbs and sugar?
Bad position to be in!
And then I saw a packet of Nobby’s Beef Jerky and though: ‘Beauty!’
Expensive, yes, but I’d enjoyed dried meat before. I like the chewiness, the strong flavours, the saltiness.
And I really like how much protein there is and how little fat or carbohydrate. 12.3g protein, 1.3g fat, 3.1g carbs in the packet.
Salt is sky high though and the price was… pricey.
Soon after that, I was then delighted to find my local butcher stocking biltong made by Springbok Delights. It was cheaper and had no MSG or preservative, unlike the Nobbys.
Have been doing some googling and my next experiment will be with Black Market Jerky I think.
And I might try some biltong from Biltong 2 Go as well, they deliver Australia-wide.
Would you stash some biltong or jerky in your handbag ?
