We had hens when I was a little girl in Scotland. When we collected them we often described them as: ‘hot from the bot’ !!
Some family friends of ours came round last Saturday and thrilled us all by bringing a gift, a dozen fresh eggs from their assorted hens.
How wonderful to see a bit of dirt on a hen’s egg.
How lovely to see lots of different sizes of eggs!
Some of Heike’s hens have been rescued, she found them at this small animal rescue centre.
